Our History

1983

Spruceland is incorporated in the Province of Alberta, and hires it’s first two employees.

1987

Spruceland moves out of rented facility to build first factory.

1991

Spruceland acquires Timeu Forest Products and builds a new sawmill in Fort Assiniboine.

1992

Sprucelands main plant is completely destroyed by fire, re-builds and re-equips 50,000 SqFt plant in 100 days, with the enthusiastic participation of all 48 employees.

1993

Spruceland partners with 7 other entreprenuers and builds a sawmill in Manning, Alberta.

1994

Spruceland opens Barrhead Specialty Wood Products in Barrhead, Alberta.

1996

Barrhead Specialty Wood Products is moved to the main plant in Acheson, Alberta.

1998

Spruceland’s main market is Japan.

2004

Spruceland withdraws interests in Manning Diversified Products.

2005

Spruceland’s ownership invites key staff to share in ownership.
